This quick review was provided by Melanie, whose son has celiac and avoids gluten.

gluten-free-at-disney-worldHi! last week we took our first trip to Disney as a family. Our 12yr old son has celiac which was a huge concern for us as he is a picky eater as it is.

We had a FANTASTIC experience! The Chef’s at all of the restaurants except for San Angel Inn came out to talk to our son and were willing to make him anything he wanted. The Chef at Crystal Palace walked us around the entire buffet and mentioned what was gluten free and told our son that if he wanted something else he would make it but he did quite well with the turkey, rice and green beans.

We had dinner at Rainforest Cafe in Disney Springs, Crystal Palace, Sci-Fi Diner, San Angel Inn, Shutters at the Caribbean Beach Resort and Raglan Road. San Angel Inn was not very accommodating therefore we did not have a good experience there and felt very rushed by the waiter. Caribbean Beach resort was fantastic including the quick service. Also quick service at Cosmic Rays and Columbia Harbour House were fantastic!

Overall a great gluten free experience.

Dining with food allergies at Columbia Harbour HouseOH my goodness. The chicken tenders. I LOVE the chicken tenders at the Columbia Harbor house. Gluten free, they were always moist and well seasoned. I paired them with the broccoli. If you are looking for a quick pick me up, small lunch or dinner, this is a good plate. It doesn’t weigh you down, and you get at least three good sized tenders.

I was never hungry after leaving, and the atmosphere was awesome- It’s much bigger on the inside than expected. Grab an upstairs room for a quiet retreat – strollers often don’t make it up the stairs, so it tends to house couples and families with older kids. Lots of little nooks to find and hide away in from the heat!

Recommend for gluten and tree nutes: Yes

This quick review was provided by Amy, whose son is allergic to Dairy and Peanuts.

Dining with food allergies at Columbia Harbour HouseWe took our severely allergic preschooler for lunch today. A manager came out, showed me the allergen book (although I knew in advance what I was ordering), took my order, and personally oversaw the process. He was able to eat allergy friendly chicken tenders (cooked in a dedicated fryer), grapes, and applesauce (to replace fries). We had no reactions and the meal went without a hitch. The ONLY thing I didn’t like there was the very low lighting, as I wouldn’t have been able to see the very early signs of a reaction :/

Recommend for dairy and peanut: Yes
